Student Leaders' Investiture was held on 16 September 2016. We thank our guest-of-honour, Ms Jacqueline Loke, for gracing the occasion.

After the Teachers' Day Mass, our students put on special performances to thank their teachers for their guidance throughout the year.

Our students and staff came dressed in national colours to celebrate Singapore's 51st Birthday!

On 05 August 2016, students, staff and parents gathered at Bishan-AMK Park for the Cross Country Championships. It was a fine day made even better by the sportsmanship and enthusiasm of all who were present.

We celebrated Racial Harmony Day on 13 July 2016. The girls enjoyed the local dishes prepared by our Parent Support Group.

IJ commemorated IFD in the 3rd week of April through a wide array of activities such as the morning sharing and dance by the international students as well as Indonesian cuisines that was prepared by the PSG. IJ also had our inaugural 'Faces of ASEAN' parade which saw students sashaying down the catwalk in their colourful costumes.

We celebrated IJ Spirit Day and IJ Fiesta on Friday, 11 March 2016. It was a fun-filled and exciting event organised by the CHIJ Secondary Student Council with the support of the Parent Support Group and the CHIJ Alumni to build the IJ Spirit.

On 19 February, an Educational Fair comprising a total of 19 institutions was organised for our graduating students. They provided a wide array of information on post-secondary options. It was an invaluable platform for our students to interact with staff and students of these institutions, enabling them to make informed decisions of their post-secondary journey.

In celebration of the gift of friendship in our IJ family, staff and students had a roti prata party on 22 February.

On 5 February, the school celebrated Chinese New Year, ushering in the year of the Monkey. The celebrations started with the Thanksgiving mass, followed by performances from different groups such as CLDDS, Choir, Rhythmic Gymnastics and the House Committee. May we all be blessed with love, joy, prosperity & fulfillment in the year of the Monkey.

CHIJ Secondary hosted Ms Cheryl Fox and Mr Steven Chia from Channel News Asia on 03rd February for the school’s afternoon assembly programme. The sharing by Ms Fox and Mr Chia was meaningful, because it brought greater awareness to the student body of the importance of keeping themselves abreast with local and global issues, especially with the implementation of the new Social Studies syllabus.

As the South Zone Centre of Excellence for Language and the Arts, we held our inaugural nationwide English Language and Literature Symposium on 28 January 2016, which was attended by more than 300 teachers in the fraternity. We were privileged to have educators and industry practitioners share their insights and best practices in the teaching of English Language and Literature.

On 4, 5, and 8 January 2016, the Secondary 1s had a fun-filled orientation to ease their transition into CHIJ. An array of activities, talks and a learning journey to CHIJMES was planned by our student leaders and teachers to induct them into the school. The orientation ended on a high note with a campfire, where family members were invited to witness their initiation into the big IJ family.

On 24th October 2015, CHIJ Secondary School welcomed visitors to IJ for an authentic and vibrant experience. Amidst the colourful decorations, visitors took part in authentic and fun-filled activities and viewed exhibition booths on cca offered by the school.

We celebrated science day on 5th August 2015. Main objectives are to create greater awareness of the applications of science in everyday life and to make the learning of science fun through games.

Our students and staff came dressed in national colours to celebrate Singapore’s 50th Birthday!

Youth Day Celebration took place on 22 July 2015.

On 7th June 2015, CHIJ Secondary was presented with tokens of appreciation by the Grassroots Advisor for Toa Payoh GRC, and Minister for Defence, Dr Ng Eng Hen, for our girls' hand-drawn mural, entitled The Singapore Bird Story, at Blk 94 Toa Payoh Lorong 4. 18 AEP girls from secondary 3 spent 2 months working on it, for CHIJ Secondary's contribution towards the SG50 endeavour organised by NEA.

On 28 April 2015, Terena Hung of Secondary 4/4, introduced Strands of Love, a student-initiated collection drive, to the school. This drive is initiated in collaboration with Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s Breast Clinic and Recycle Your Hair (RYH) Volunteer Group, to support and make a difference to the lives of breast cancer patients.

Our signature student-led community project, Project Caritas, took place on 22 May 2015. Our students brought cheer to the elderly to River Safari.

This year, the school relaunched Bring Your Own Containers (BYOC) with a difference. Each student was given an IJ container and "No plastic day" was changed from a termly to a daily practice with the support of our school's canteen vendors.

We celebrated Easter Day on 06 April 2015. Our Parent's Support Group also organised the Easter Monday Egg Hunt for our students.

Honours Day is one of the proudest event in CHIJ as the school recognises the efforts and achievements of not just the students in the school but also the teachers as well. We are extremely honoured to have Ms Joan Lim, our GoH, to grace the occasion on 7 March 2015. In addition, our Board of Management, members of the PSG, & Alumni also came together that morning to celebrate our successes.

With the passing of Singapore's Founding Father, Mr Lee Kuan Yew, CHIJ came together as a family, to express our thoughts and prayers, and to bid a final farewell to him. This was expressed on a customized banner, that was sent to the to Toa Payoh Central Community Club's Tribute Site.

IJ Festival of the Language and the Arts or IJ FLAIR is a week to allow our students to express themselves through Language, Literature, Visual and Performing Arts. IJ FLAIR raises awareness of the creative process and in appreciating the beauty of the creative works around us. Appreciating and interacting with these creative pieces makes one reflect and grow as individuals.

We celebrated IJ Spirit Day and IJ Fiesta on Friday, 13 March 2015. The theme for this year was “Once Upon A Time - It’s Your Story". It was a fun-filled and exciting event organised by the CHIJ Secondary Student Council with the support of the Parent Support Group and the CHIJ Alumni to build the IJ Spirit.

The school celebrated together, the ushering in of the year of the Goat. May we all be blessed with love, joy, prosperity & fulfilment.

In celebration of the gift of friendship in our IJ family, staff and students had a roti prata party on 10 February.

On 2nd, 3rd and 9th January 2015, an Orientation programme was organised for new members to the IJ family. Some highlights include a school tour, induction session and house games. Student leaders also facilitated a learning journey to CHIJMES to learn about the rich heritage of the school. The orientation concluded with a CCA tour and a cosy campfire.
