Strands of Love
On 28 April 2015, Terena Hung of Secondary 4/4, introduced Strands of Love, a student-initiated collection drive, to the school. This drive is initiated in collaboration with Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s Breast Clinic and Recycle Your Hair (RYH) Volunteer Group, to support and make a difference to the lives of breast cancer patients.
Terena and the school would like to invite you to donate your hair (at least 8 inches) and to raise funds, required to turn the hair into wigs for the breast cancer patients. Each donor will be given a pledge card to raise $90. The completed wigs will be presented to Tan Tock Seng Hospital in August this year and it will be available for loan at the Breast Clinic.
On 26 May 2015, 9 to 12 students will be invited to have their hair cut in school by hairdressers from partner saloons. Students may also have their hair cut at the identified partnered saloons with Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s Recycle Your Hair Drive.
To support this cause and to care for those disadvantaged, please pick up a letter for your parents from the General Office. Please return the Acknowledgement Slip to the General Office by 8 May 2015 and collect your Pledge Card at the same time. The completed Pledge Card must be returned to the General Office by 22 May 2015.
