The Legion of Mary was founded in Dublin, Ireland, on 7 September 1921, by Frank Duff. It is a lay Catholic organisation whose members give service to the Church on a voluntary basis in almost every country. The objective of the Legion of Mary is the glorify God through the holiness of its members developed by prayer and active co-operation in Mary’s and the Church’s work. The unit of the Legion of Mary is called a presidium, which holds weekly meetings, where prayer is intermingled with reports and discussion.

CHIJ Legion of Mary is named the Our Lady of Graces Junior Presidium. The members begin meetings with opening prayers and rosary. Every session includes components such as spiritual readings and sharing. The legionaries conduct morning prayer sessions in the School Chapel before assembly everyday, rosary during the month of May and October, organise masses on holy days of obligation, assist the school’s other masses and support the school in its various spiritual activities. The members also participate in the annual Inter-School Religious Knowledge Competition and have won first prize.

The Legion of Mary is led by a Spiritual Director, Sister Angeline Lim, FMDM and the teachers-in-charge. Join the Legion of Mary to have an enriched spiritual and prayer life and discover what God has in store for you.
